Scophalopods in Springtime (The Wedding Party)

Pete Goldlust (Bisbee, Arizona) creates playful work featuring otherworldly creatures and anthropomorphic forms exploring the human experience.

Scophalopods are Goldlust’s own invention—part cephalopod and nudibranch, or sea worm, these creatures have come out to the canal for a wedding party and they want you to jump into their wedding photos!

The Wedding Party is constructed from up-cycled clothing and other reclaimed fabrics, enhancing the familiar, human qualities of these strange squid-like creations. Goldlust invites you to project and speculate about the character and intentions of these imagined beings as you interact with these mysterious, yet approachable visitors.
