Wavelength

Artist Kevin Berry created these four transit shelters, including the trash receptacles and bike racks, near the intersections of Camelback and Scottsdale Roads. Water and desert motifs inspired the wave-shaped design of the back shade-structure and the designs on the concrete benches. He used Cor-Ten steel, concrete, and wire mesh, providing shade and air flow.

Kevin Berry was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and Arizona State University. He has completed numerous public art projects across the Valley including the Tempe Canal Project, Light Rail Transit Center, Sky Harbor Airport Bus Shelters, and Tributary Wall in Scottsdale.
