Self Portrait

Jeffrey Gold (Los Angeles) worked with the Granite Reef Senior Center and Scottsdale Public Art staff for three years to develop a monumental (72 x 360 inches) multi-panel painting. The painting, titled Self Portrait, is an historic timeline and non-traditional portrait which is at once intimate and personal as well as a universal touchstone.

The painting’s timeline covers 50-plus years and chronicle events beginning with World War II and ending with current imagery and icons through 2011. The imagery Gold includes represents a snapshot of life in America, from one man’s perspective.
