July 24 - August 27: Artist Residency Aleksandra Buha, Dream World

Aleksandra Buha will take up an artist residency in The Gallery@theLibrary, in the Scottsdale Civic Center Library, from July 27 to August 27th, 2009. She will bring her paints, easel and brushes for 2 to 3 days per week, creating intriguing oil paintings before the public.

The public is invited to come and watch the artist at work. She will be painting in TheGallery@the Library from July 27 to Aug 27 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 7 pm.

She will also provide a free painting workshop to the public (limited space, please RSVP to spa_projects@sccarts.org). In this workshop, participants will receive instruction on the techniques to make a monochromatic acrylic painted portrait from a photograph of themselves or loved one. Bring your photograph (ideally both a color copy and a black and white one).  Supplies; an 8x10” canvas, paints and a paintbrush will be provided.

Completed paintings will be on exhibition throughout her residency.
